The Art of Difficult Conversations

Opening Up About Endometriosis and Health Struggles

In this episode, Sarah explores the delicate art of having difficult conversations about endometriosis and other health struggles. It’s not easy to talk about the pain, frustration, and emotional weight that come with chronic conditions, especially when we don’t talk about about healthy periods and some of the impact of endo is incredibly personal. We often avoid telling people how it’s all impacting you because the conversations are just too difficult; be that your line manager because you are struggling at work, your partner because you’re not enjoying intimacy as much as you were, or your friends because you feel like you’re cancelling your Mates Dates more than you want to. But holding onto these feelings can worsen both your mental and physical wellbeing as well as your symptoms themselves.

Drawing from personal experiences and the principles of the Eastern medicine techniques she uses, Sarah discusses the importance of releasing emotions and of sharing your story. Plus, you’ll get practical tips for opening up to those you find it hardest to talk to, and how to start a conversation that can lighten your emotional load and help you find support.
